Got Gloom?

medium_4296313268Check this out

We all know this Christmas verse thanks to GF Handel:

The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them. (Isaiah 9:2 NASB)

But look what comes right before it:

But there will be no more gloom for her who was in anguish; in earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He shall make it glorious, by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles. (Isaiah 9:1 NASB)

I love this – Jesus growing up in Galilee of the Gentiles making it glorious – but check the beginning

No more gloom for her who was in anguish.

Are you in anguish?

Are you living in gloom?

Are you stuck in a dark land – a dark place?

Christmas is here to break the gloom – break the anguish.

Ok – that was a bit mushy – how 'bout this:

Jesus was born, lived, and died a cruel death to break the gloom with an astonishing light. [Tweet This]

so true - we were missing the Christmas 'feeling' till we started to decorate and fill the air with Christmas Carols - it is so much better now that we are in a Jesus state of mind.
      thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for these special Christmas scriptures from Isaiah, Mr. Ben! You have me thinking of the gloom that must have been so deep prior to Jesus coming. Like my heart's gloom prior to letting in His light. God bless gloom-less you!

I don't think there is anything in life worse than hopelessness. The times i feel the worst is when i loose sight of the way out of a problem. I can't even fathom what it would be like to have no hope at all.

Arise! Shine! For the Light has come - and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee! Hallelujah!

Thanks for sharing this good news with us! I love that He dispels our anguish... not that He might, but that He has done it! There will be no more gloom to her who WAS in anguish... Hallelujah! I needed that. 😀

    God bless you Bro Ben!

He has delivered me from the power of darkness and translated me into the kingdom of His dear Son. Colossians 3:13
The darkness is past and the true Light now shines. 1 John 2:8

Although we live in a world of darkness, the true Light within us shines forth, lightens our path and shows the way for others.
