Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 NASB)
This is such a big deal.
Man was such a screw up.
We did not even achieve 1 generation of perfection in the perfect environment. We could not pull off righteousness when there was only one sin to worry about.
Adam and Eve, living in that wonderful garden, the planting of the Lord, are suffering with shame and guilt, and hiding from God. There was even shame in their relationship with each other.
There are infinite ways an infinite God could deal with this problem, but He chose to become one.
He chose to put on flesh, and not just some special model that was impervious to all temptation, but the same kind of flesh we all wear every day. You know the kind. The flesh that wants what it can not have, and always has an argument to justify it’s need.
Yep – that’s the kind of flesh God put on.
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. (Hebrews 4:15 NIV)
