So this song has been on my heart this week, so in my style (slightly resembling that of an ugly step sister) I decided I would just make it fit into a 7 word format.
The part that has my heart beating this week is the trifecta of His oath, His Covenant, His blood – just a huge wow there in my heart.
Well – here you go – my tweaked version of Edward Mote’s classic hymn
Oh Christ the Solid Rock ~ Edward Mote
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ (precious) blood and (dazzling) righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ (Sweet) name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand, (again)
All other ground is sinking sand. (amen)
When darkness veils His (Jesus) lovely face,
I rest on His (Jesus) unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale, (Yikes)
My anchor (Jesus) holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood (trinity)
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
(Impeccably) Dressed in His (absolute) righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne. (WOW)

I love this song and how you tweaked it for Sis Caddo’s Seven word Sundays!
God bless you and yours this upcoming week!
thanks Deb
I’m always grateful whenever someone posts this reassuring hymn once more–thanks so much, bro. God bless you and the fam–love, sis Caddo
