Father Seeks Worshipers – inquire within

River of Living Water

But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24 NASB)

Did you know that God is looking for something? It is not something that he does not have, but it is something He wants more of.

And this is nothing new. Do you remember this verse out of 2 Chronicles?

For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. (2 Chronicles 16:9 NASB)

Do you see it?

The Father is looking for people who’s hearts are completely His. I love that phrase, completely His.

I expect that many of you, like me, learned this verse in the King James Version where it says whose heart is perfect toward Him. But I love this phrase – heart is completely His.

That is such a perfect description of true worship.

Is your heart completely His?

Maybe your saying to yourself – if I am honest – I was lusting after other stuff yesterday, or earlier today, and my heart was going after this or that.

How bout right now – as you read these words – isn’t your heart crying out to be completely His?

Guess what – that right there – that moment of giving your heart to Jesus completely – that was a moment of worship.

Can you go longer – just a bit longer – in worship – full on desire to love Him more today that you did yesterday?

If you will put your will to work on what you know in your heart and reborn spirit is right, before you know it you will be just the kind of worshipper the Lord is spending considerable effort looking for.

Let today be better than yesterday, and tomorrow we can get after it again.

BenLet’s live a life of ever-increasing worship!

Thank you for stopping by today.

Ben

I love how the different versions say the same thing, but differently... each one giving us a new revelation of our Father who is seeking true worshipers:
... to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him... (KJV)
... to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him... (NIV)
... to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him... (NKJV)
... to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him... (NLT)
... for people who are totally committed to him... (The Message)
... to give strength to those whose hearts are loyal to him... (The Good News Translation)
... that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His... (NASB)

O Lord, let me have a heart that is fully committed to You, loyal to You, totally committed to You... yes Lord, give me a heart that is completely Yours, and draw near to me so that I may draw near to You, in Jesus' name. Father, thank You for this enlightening word this morning. I ask that You would minister to Ben's spirit as You have ministered to mine in this word that he was faithful to bring forth, in Jesus' name, amen.

I am having brain surgery this morning at 11. Please pray for healing Psalm 73:23 "Yet I am always with You. You hold me by my right hand." I am blessed knowing that He is not only holding my hand, He has also gone before me and conquered mine enemies! Yes and amen!

Amen - Praying with you Mimi. Lord, I ask that you make your presence known to Mimi and all that attend to her this morning. I pray that the doctor would be your instrument today and your life would reign in every touch.

God Bless you and give you peace.

I am locked squarely into a life of ever-increasing worship--momentary distractions don't equal "lusting", regardless that man may judge. Bottom line: if there's something I think I want, but God doesn't want it "for, and with, me"--then I don't truly want it. Just yesterday I experienced another amazing victory: sometimes we struggle over whether we should "give something up", thinking the "something" might hinder our pursuit of God and His Plan for us--only to learn it was the devil in disguise, trying to persuade us to give up something God has His Hand in. I'm so glad He's teaching me to "hold steady, don't make any rash decisions", wait till the picture is clearer--then, continue to wait on Him, listen and watch as He fills in more details. I think this is gonna be a beautiful canvas when it's finished! God bless you and the fam--love, sis Caddo

Wow - Good word sis! What a great way to look at the way the devil tries to rob us of what God gives for our pleasure or passion.
God bless you right back girl.
