And when they had approached Jerusalem and had come to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied there and a colt with her; untie them, and bring them to Me. And if anyone says something to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them." (Matthew 21:1-3 NASB)
So, a few decades ago there was a popular hymn in church. It actually dates back to the late 1800's. it was called "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder." It actually carries a fine message. The refrain of which went like this.
'When the roll is called up yonder I'll be there'
Don't get me wrong, it's a great sentiment, but what about when the roll is called today?
The Lord had need of a donkey for His triumphal entry into the heart if Jerusalem.
I know you will think I have my tongue tucked neatly in my cheek, but what about today. This same Jesus has need of a couple donkeys today to ride triumphantly into the heart of your neighborhood, or more precisely into the heart of your neighbor.
Are you ready to be saddled up and accomplish the greatest honor ever bestowed on such a beast, the bearing of your creator?
I hope you can see the picture I am painting today.
The King of kings and Lord of lords has need of you today to carry Him where He otherwise has no access. [Tweet This]
- His target audience does not listen to Christian radio
- They mock TV Preachers, good or bad
- They will never darken the doors of your church
- The street preacher scares them
"But that donkey in the next cubicle - he is not like the other wild donkeys around. He has a purpose and peace I don't understand."
The Lord has need of you today! Are you willing to carry him to your circle?
See you next time
