Words of Jesus – The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock | Burning Fire Shut Up In My Bones

This Blog post from My friend Cheryl  so clearly captures the WHY behind my blog that I wanted to repost it here. The power of the Red Letters described:

Words of Jesus – The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock

24″Anyone who listens to My teaching and obeys Me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse, because it is built on rock. 26 But anyone who hears My teaching and ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will fall with a mighty crash.

A house builder knows the importance of a good foundation. While you may be able to cut corners elsewhere, if the foundation of a building or house is not firm, it will begin to erode over time, eventually ruining the house. "If Jesus’ words are life, and we refuse to obey them, then it only stands to reason that disobedience to His words will bring death." That sentence sums it up perfectly. Truth we should build the foundation of our lives on.

Oooh, this reminds me that Joseph Prince was teaching last week with an illustration of the tabernacle--about how we stand, are planted in, a foundation of silver (which symbolizes redemption). And we are the boards of wood--covered in gold (Christ's righteousness). This may not make sense without his cool graphics.... and I've probably gone off on a tangent, so yes--I stand firm on the foundation of Jesus, whose name is Truth (and thank you for highlighting that for me yesterday!). God bless you BIG.
