Baby for a season – Father forever

And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 NASB)

Eternal Father

Ok – Honestly – I am not smart enough to figure out the trinity. I get Father, Son, Holy Spirit (sort of) but now I am seeing prophecy that calls Jesus the Eternal Father.

How does this work?

I dunno – but I am OK with that.

I do know that Jesus has the heart of a father.

When He met the woman at the well, He confronted the mess in her life.

When He met the woman caught in adultery, rather than taking up stones, He treated her as a father would treat His daughter.

When He met the leper whose only question was whether Jesus was willing, He said I will.

When He met the man whose son was throwing himself into the fire, He listened to the man’s tale and cast the evil spirit out of the boy.

He gave the widow of Nain back her son.

He let the little children come to Him.

Truly this Son of God is an Eternal Father.

I am so thankful.

How has He been a Father to you?

How? The unconditional love thing--that He kept welcoming me back with open arms, washing off the grime from the pig styes and quietly covering me with His robe--time after time, when I was too blind and ignorant to "get it". And now that we're wed (for the Father is also Husband), He holds me close and whispers--and I hear Him, and "get it", and it's so good.

ok - you are really getting me going today - Hallelujah - nothing better than a grand testimony of the goodness of God.

      Check out this scripture:

"For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the LORD of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth. "For the LORD has called you, Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one's youth when she is rejected," Says your God. - Isaiah 54:5-6 NASB

Husband - Maker - Lord - Holy One - God

      I embrace all of that!

The God Almighty has truly blessed our family this year inspite of my husband suffering with foot ulcers from diabetes for 39 years and he is 50 years old then having a below the knee amputation and was home walking with a walker 3 days after surgery and he has a long way to go yet. God has answered so many peoples prayers. I cry out with joy to God the Creator with praise and thanksgiving.God held our hand every step of our walk and he continues as long as we do not let go. God is truly awesome.
