More living water ~ SoS Saturday

Many Waters - SoS header

A garden enclosed
Is my sister, my spouse,
A spring shut up,
A fountain sealed.

...

A fountain of gardens,
A well of living waters,
And streams from Lebanon.

Song of Songs 4:12, 15 NKJV

Living Water

As I dug around in the Word for this phrase “Living Water” I was struck by a couple of references in Jeremiah

For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns--broken cisterns that can hold no water. - Jeremiah 2:13

I know, I know, this is a series about the Song of Songs – the worlds greatest love song, and here I am on Valentines week getting ready to talk about walking away from the ever flowing fountain of living water and trying catch the worlds water in our leaky buckets, but here we are. And there it is.

It was a tough time in Israel’s history, but God, their God, their Father has a harsh word for his people.

Jesus opens up this idea of living water when He says:

"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water." But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. - John 7:38-39

Have you ever been there?

Have you ever turned to the leaky bucket of the world to fill that place – that God shaped place? [Tweet This]

It’s a very simple message today.

Come to the Fountain of Living Water – that fountain that never will run dry.

Let it bubble up inside you and fill you till you flow over to your friends, family, and all who come your way.

Stop resisting the Holy Spirit.

Ben NelsonCome to the Fountain and drink.

Ben

Hallelujah - Jesus tells us, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink." I thirst Lord. I love God's word, and I'm so thankful for that fountain that never will run dry. Great word today, Ben.

    Blessings,
    Cheryl

Without going into details....I have been down with the flu past three days..fever and all. this has put me out flat on my back and like David I have been calling out to the lord...confessing, repenting..humbling. your message today was so meant for my ears more then you can know.. God loves us so..amazing how he speaks to us and through us. How he uses brothers and sisters, even those we have never met to encourage, uplift, pray, and gently nudge as needed. "stop resisting the holy spirit" strong words for a child of God to hear. After I read this post, 6 am..today, I still had not slept..difficult night.....I woke my husband up ..from a dream about to doves up in a tree house they were gray...and a shadow passed by and the doves became pure white as snow..glistening..he was certain this was all about Gods holy spirit. Sorry for the rambling...I will conclude by saying thank you for the word..and please keep me in prayer. God bless and sorry for the lengthy rambling.

Yes, Lord fill me up to overflowing with Your Living Water and let it spill over onto my friends, family, and all those I come in contact with. Amen and Amen! Just imagine if we all prayed for this what a revival it would be!
