Explaining God

Grunge Wood Interior

I am pretty sure when face to face with God, I will be reluctant to demand an explanation.

Have you heard people say “when I see God, I am going to ask Him why…”

I have a sense from the encounters with God we have depicted in the Word that when standing before His throne, we are the ones who will have some explaining to do.

In the book of Job we even have God himself saying in effect, who are you to question me.

And yet – in the fullness of time – God was willing to explain Himself.

No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. - John 1:18 NASB

You see, Jesus is God explained.

Do you wonder about God’s purpose?
Jesus is a demonstration of what moves God.

Do you wonder about God’s passions?
Jesus is a demonstration of God’s passions.

Do you wonder about God’s priorities?
Jesus is a demonstration of God’s priorities.

Do you wonder about God’s plans?
Jesus is God’s plan.

It’s as if all of mankind cried out to God – “Explain Yourself” – and Jesus said – “Father, I’ll show them.” [Tweet This]

I have to laugh because this is so true of me. One of my famous sayings is that "I'm going to sit with Jesus until He answers all of my questions even if it takes all of eternity!" lol It will be more like I can't even speak when I meet Him face to face. Love the article. Blessing to you.

Thanks Sue- Yes - i always think of how His best friend John reacts to their meeting - falls on His face - that is probably more like it for us.

I guess i have always read this in the King James, and when i saw the language in the NASB that "He has explained Him" it just blew my mind.
