A Key to Provision

What do you do when you are ‘up against it?’

When you are facing unfathomable odds or impossible circumstances, what’s your next move?

Jesus and the disciples are standing there with 5,000 hungry men, far from any market and late in the day. Unwilling to send them away hungry, Jesus asks the boys where the nearest Cracker Barrel is. Philip is like “Cracker Barrel, we’ll still be waiting for a table for 5,000 a week from Tuesday!”

One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him, "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?" - John 6:8-9 NASB

The faith that flows from Andrew’s mouth is not exactly astounding, but his actions here are a key for our lives today.

When faced with making dinner for a multitude on a shoestring budget, there is only one thing to do.

Take what you have and place it in the Master’s hands. [Tweet This]

You see Jesus will always supply the projects He initiates.

It was not a matter of Andrew’s great faith, but simply putting what he had in Jesus’ hands.

The question was not a problem. The confusion was not a problem. The apparent lack of resource was not a problem.

I have heard it said, “little is much in the hands of Jesus.” So what are we to do? Take the little we have and put it in His hands.

Big problem – simple solution.

Ben NelsonHave a great day.

Don’t forget to shine.

I am actually liking it quite a bit, Ben. Being new to the writing scene I want to see where God takes this. I feel He has called me to tell my story through His inspiration and leading so I am enjoying it a lot. There is no way I can post everyday but it has been fun to see that I can actually get something on paper well screen each day.

I love this , Mr. Ben .. thank you. I've been reading the devotional, God Calling, and there is one that talks about sublime audacity. Combined with your post it reminds me that all things are possible with God. Blessings as you shine!
