Raw Materials

It’s another red letter day, and I want to show you an exciting progression that jumped out at me last night.

I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. - John 17:6 NASB

  1. God found me in the world
  2. God – the giver – gave me to Jesus
  3. When I was still in the world, I belonged to God
  4. I now belong to Jesus

When I was a self-absorbed, self-centered worldling, God found me. When my only interest in God was how He made me look and what He could do for me, He handed me over to Jesus – no wrapping paper – no gift card – just me.

Jesus received me (and you too!) as if I were a lump of raw material and started working on forming a model of Himself. [Tweet This]

The tools He uses to work this clay are His word and His wonderful name.

You, Lord, are the potter. I want to look like you, Jesus. Help me to be pliable and conformable to your image. Have Your way in me today.

Ben NelsonThanks for stopping by.

Don’t forget to turn the light on.

And for those of us believers raising teens, it's good news that they are God's first and only. Though I do my best to teach and to train, it is God's job to gift them to Jesus. Great encouragement!

Thanks Deb- Hard lesson to learn at any age of our kids lives. It's hard for me not to think "MINE" even when I look at my grand daughter, or any of my kids.
