There are some Red Letters that I would never want to hear.
You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come. - John 7:34
God has been calling people back to Himself since the first one—Adam— walked away.
When I read those Red Letters this morning, what was ringing in my spirit was the verse from Jeremiah (and yes, I did have to search for it) where God tells His people:
You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. - Jeremiah 29:13
And yet when this Word spoken through Jeremiah comes in the flesh, He says “you will not find Me”
I have to tell you though - God is so Good. Do you know why we are able to find Him today?
It’s not because we are awesome seekers.
It’s because He put the ‘seek’ in us:
And Isaiah is very bold and says, "I WAS FOUND BY THOSE WHO DID NOT SEEK ME, I BECAME MANIFEST TO THOSE WHO DID NOT ASK FOR ME." - Romans 10:20
Today, I’m thanking God for the ‘seek’ He has given us, so that we might never need to hear those dread filled words;
You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.
If He has given you a measure of ‘seek,’ go after Him today. Abandon yourself to that ‘seek!’
Shine where you’re plugged in.
