Friday Q&A

Another Red Letter Day Q&A

Got Questions?

You can ask them here.

Just to be clear - this is not to say I all the answers (or even most of them) but I have lots of opinions, and so do some of the other folks in our community. Perhaps we can put our heads together and make sense of some of the stuff about living for Jesus that has you puzzled.

On Fridays I will pick 2 or 3 questions and create a post for each.

My hope is that these questions will open up some lively discussions on Fridays.

So if you have opinions, especially ones that differ from mine (you know the kind I mean – wrong ones) I am hoping you will join in.

If I have no idea how to answer – I’ll let you know, and we can brainstorm together.

What do you think?

Got Questions?

If I use your question I will make sure to link to your home base – wherever it is.

If you want your question to be anonymous, email me here:  ben@AnotherRedLetterDay.com

There are a few rules.

Be polite.
Be honest.
Be gentle.
Be friendly.

I reserve the right to choose the questions I want, (I am after-all the one holding the chalk) and to delete comments that don’t follow the rules.

Ask away.

BenThanks as always,

Ben

I remembered my question, hope it's not too stupid: Everyone always says, "2000 years ago", when referencing Christ's appearance on earth. I heard it again, just this week--but I've been hearing the same "2000 years ago" for at least the 47 years I've been a Christian. Why is this?

Hi Mr. Ben! I've been reading in 1 Thessalonians and wondered if you could talk about vs 4:13-18. It's where Paul talks about the dead in Christ rising first. I was just a little confused. Is he talking about their physical bodies, since wouldn't they already be with Jesus? Thanks for your help! God bless you!

Hi Ben, I don't know if there is an answer that we'll know in this earthly lifetime, but I've always wondered and would love your take on the following ...

    Q. Since God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent; why did He create Satan?

And I've got one for next Friday too ... about a verse in Scripture that has always concerned me.

    Talk to you soon!

    Hi Ben!

I was going to give you this question to tackle a while ago and don’t know if I ever did - I went back to research past Q&A’s and hope I didn’t miss it.

When I ran across it again today I said to myself, "Self! This has always concerned me and who better to talk to about it then Ben on a Q&A Friday!" At your leisure of course, and I thank you in advance for your opinion.

Q: Ephesians 6:12 says (in the NLT) “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

As you probably know, I did a blog post on this verse and purposely didn't address what falls after the last comma because I don’t really understand it. I've always been a touch concerned about the “evil spirits in heavenly places.” WHY would God allow evil spirits in Heaven? Is “heavenly places” some peripheral part of Heaven? Perhaps just outside the pearly gates where Pinkerton's patrol to keep out the “evil spirits?”

    I remain, very truly yours,
    Felecia

Oh my goodness. So good to hear from you Stella! I've often thought of you and prayed for you in over the last couple years.

I would love to send you my book as a gift - you were one of the main reasons I kept writing.

Are you still at the same address?

        Hi Ben!

Sorry for the delay--when I change blogs it usually means some crazy drama's goin' on.... But things are in "breakthrough/Harvest" mode, so I'm squealing Hallelujahs!!!

I am so happy and thankful that you've thought of me, and prayed--I guess I'm not as forgettable as I thought 🙂 I've thought of you too, and it was exciting to catch up recently regarding your grandkids--wow!

I just reread the line about how I was one of the reasons you kept writing--WOWZA, brother, you can't imagine how that touches my heart, to know I've had a good impact somewhere in the wide world. Thank you--I'm thrilled.

And YES, I'd love to receive a gift of your book! Same address--if you've still got it (but not for long--that's the big surprise I want to share with you via email)--if you need the address again (or just to have a quicker mail contact), email me--lesliebrower34@gmail.com

God bless you and the fam so BIG!!! It's gonna be some kind of wow-great New Year!!
