I’ve been going through the Psalms of late, and taking the truth contained in them and declaring it out loud (and in my journal) over myself and my loved ones.

Today I came to Psalm 91, and as it always does, it blew me away. It became one long declaration for me this morning. I know many of you have done this, and much has no doubt been written like this in the past. And yet, I want to share my declarations with you. I encourage you to read it out loud, and put your own spin on, where that makes sense.

Psalm 91 declaration–a song of dwelling and abiding in the Lord of the Angel Armies.

I dwell in, reside in, take up as my residence in You, the Almighty one and You are a shelter- a place of safety for me. I abide, live, come home to, the shadow of Your protection.

You, Mighty God are my place of refuge and fortress and I fully trust You to protect me.

You deliver me from the traps and snares my enemy places before me.

You protect me from the pestilence and that which would try to kill, steal and destroy me and my life.

You cover me with the protection of Your presence.

You are a refuge and shelter for me.

Your faithfulness is a shield for me and a bulwark–impenetrable by any enemy forces.

I am not afraid of the terrors of the night, or arrows–the ranged attacks from my enemy–firey darts–by day. These arrows are the enemy’s thoughts sent to put me in fear or draw me away from You, but they do not move me. You expose his lies and keep me in your safety.

The pestilence of the night does not cause me to fear

Nor the destruction that desires to destroy me and lay waste of me.

When one thousand fall at my side, and ten thousand fall at my right hand I know it will not come close to me.

The flu – not me
Bankruptcy – not me
Failed marriage – not me
Cancer – not me
Heart attack – not me
Dementia – not me
Alzheimers – not me
Weakness and broken bones – not me
Children departing from the faith – not mine

My children will live in the light of your word,. They will hear and respond to Your call.

I will see it in others but it will not come near me since I take refuge in You. I dwell in You. How could anything attack or harm me?

No evil will befall me because I am located in God.

My spirit is in the very God of the universe, The Lord of Hosts. I live inside the one who commands the angel armies.

My tent is within the walls of Zion. How could any plague come close to me?

His angels surround me and my protection is their assignment.

They guard me in all my ways even when I’m not sitting in this tent. When I go out, when I go into the city, when I go into the country, and I come in, when I rise and when I sit or lay down, Your angelic protection detail surrounds me. They overtake me with Blessings from Your hand.

They bear me up in their hands and protect me even from stubbing my toe against a rock.

When lions and cobras attack, I will tread on them because of my angelic protection detail. He who goes about as a roaring lion, and manifests as a serpent has no power over me but is nothing more than a floor mat for me.

Because I love You, because I attend to Your word and obey Your voice, You deliver me.

Because I know and trust in Your name, You set me on high.

When I call on You, You hear me and answer me.

You, the Almighty Father are with me in any and all trouble.

You will rescue me and honor me.

You will satisfy me with long life.

And I will see Your salvation, face to face.
